ABOUT SRT: SCAR RELEASE THERAPY

SCARS. Almost everyone has at least one. Whether it’s the result of one of many different types of surgery, or from an injury…some people are left with residual complications resulting in chronic pain, itching and nerve irritation at the scar site. Additionally, we are now learning that the scar, while not causing specific irritation at the site, may be contributing to chronic pain in other areas of the body.

WHAT IS SCAR RELEASE THERAPY?

The term ‘release’ refers to the releasing or relaxing of contracted and tightened tissue. Coupled with manual release work (a specialized type of massage), MPS Scar/Adhesion Release Therapy significantly reduces the restrictions of scar tissue.

Often, scars result in a tightening of the surrounding tissue that can restrict movement or function in the body. These limitations not only affect the joint, limb or adjacent area, but they can affect the underlying organs, too. This is because scar tissue has the potential to spread in any direction, including internally, throughout the body. Luckily, releasing the scar can yield powerful results, which can improve mobility, reduce complications and decrease pain often associated with deep scars.

Now you can address the complications of surgical scars and their consequent chronic pain conditions or restrictions with this simple and safe therapy that has been proven to show amazing results, often in the first visit. Most people experience substantial changes in only 3 – 6 sessions for each scar, with some getting complete relief after 12. Imagine less pain, itching, and adhesions while potentially getting an immediate increase in range of motion, regardless of the size or age of your scar.

examples of scarring

In general, this treatment is completely painless. You will see immediate visible changes in the appearance of the scar and gradually will notice a reduction in the tightness throughout the entire body. When a scar has been released there is no longer a restriction in the flow of energy, blood circulation and lymph drainage. The body can then complete the healing process.
